Welcome to the cornelison lab at the university of Missouri

Our research focuses on the molecular mechanisms by which adult muscle stem cells (satellite cells) receive, integrate, and respond to signals from their local environment to produce timely and appropriate muscle regeneration.

Due to the activity of satellite cells, skeletal muscle can replace itself many times over a human lifetime... applications of our work are in understanding and possibly alleviating muscle growth and regeneration deficits in disease and aging, and in development of cell-based therapies.
